Email that arrives
The site's emails sent through a real email account, without landing in spam.
What it is
Out of the box, WordPress sends email through the site's own server — and most inboxes treat that as spam, when the host delivers it at all. With Email on, everything the site sends (forms, password resets, login notices, WooCommerce orders) goes out through an email account of yours, as if you had sent it. The plugin stores the password encrypted and keeps a log of the last 100 emails, without their content.
How to use it
- In Ranking Suite → Modules, turn Email on and open the Email screen.
- Under "Email provider", pick yours (Gmail, Microsoft 365, Zoho, Hostinger, Locaweb, KingHost…). The server, port and encryption fill in by themselves; for another provider, choose "Other" and type the details it gives you.
- Fill in the user (usually the full email address) and the password. For Gmail and Outlook with 2-step verification, use an app password, not your normal password.
- Save and click "Send test email". If it fails, the screen shows the server's real reason, in plain words.
- It worked: turn on "Send the site emails through an email account". Keep "Force this sender" on — most servers only send as the account itself.
Common problems
The test says the server refused the user or the password.
On Gmail, create an app password (Google Account → Security → App passwords). On Microsoft 365, the administrator must allow "Authenticated SMTP" on the mailbox. Elsewhere, check that the user is the full email address.
The test hangs or says it could not connect.
The host usually blocks the port. Try 587 with TLS or 465 with SSL; if neither works, ask your host to open outgoing SMTP.
The test passed, but the email never arrived.
Check the spam folder and the "Sending log" on the same screen. If the sender is on another domain, keep "Force this sender" on with the account's own address.
The screen says "Paused".
Another SMTP plugin (WP Mail SMTP, FluentSMTP, Post SMTP…) is already doing this. Keep only one: deactivate the other or leave Email off.
If something goes wrong
If emails stop going out, turn off "Send the site emails through an email account" (or the whole module): the site goes back to sending the old way right away, keeping the settings.
