What it is
On Apache and LiteSpeed servers the plugin writes protection and cache rules to the .htaccess file, always saving the original. On Nginx and IIS that file has no effect, so the plugin doesn't pretend to protect: it shows ready-to-copy rules and checks over the internet whether they are working.
How to use it
- Open the Security or Cache screen and look for the "Rules to copy into Nginx" card.
- Copy the rules and paste them inside your site's server { } block (or ask your host to do it).
- Reload Nginx. The card shows "verified" once the rules respond.
Common problems
I don't have access to the Nginx configuration.
Send the rules to your host's support. Until then, server-dependent protections are shown as pending.
WordPress says the scheduler (WP-Cron) is disabled.
Your host runs scheduled tasks by itself. The plugin shows the command to set up in the server scheduler.
If something goes wrong
If the site stops after pasting the rules, remove the block starting with "# Ranking Suite" and reload Nginx.
