Types and Fields
Content types, categories, custom fields, item grids and search filters, without JetEngine, ACF or JetSmartFilters.
What it is
Many sites need their own listings beyond posts and pages: properties with price and bedrooms, courses with hours, a team with role and photo. Today that takes JetEngine or ACF, and the filtered list takes JetSmartFilters. The Types and Fields module does it inside Ranking Suite: you build the content type, its categories (taxonomies), the fields (text, number, choices, photo, gallery, repeater, relation, map and more, 19 in all) and options pages; show the fields on Elementor pages; and build the item grid with filters that respond without reloading the page. It ships turned off and works alongside JetEngine and ACF on the same site: nothing changes until you turn it on.
How to use it
- In the plugin menu, open Types and Fields and click the button at the top that turns it on (or turn the module on in Ranking Suite → Modules).
- On the Types tab, create the content type (e.g. Properties). On the Taxonomies tab, create its categories (e.g. Neighborhood). On the Fields tab, create a field group and choose which types it appears on.
- Add items in the WordPress editor, like a post: the fields show up below the text.
- In Elementor, in the "Ranking" group, use the Field, Gallery, Repeater, Terms and Map widgets, or the "Campos Ranking" dynamic fields in the regular widgets. For the list, use the Listing widget (the grid) and the Filter widgets.
- Every structure change is kept in the screen's history, with "go back" to the previous version. Archiving a type removes it from the site without deleting anything; restoring brings it back with its data.
Common problems
The site already uses JetEngine or ACF.
You can turn the module on anyway: they work side by side, and JetEngine and ACF types show on the screen as read-only. Nothing is switched by itself.
The type I created does not show on the site.
Check that it is not on the Archived tab and that it is marked as public. If an item's address says "page not found", save the type again on the screen: that rebuilds the site's addresses.
The grid does not filter.
The Filter widget must be on the same page as the Listing and point to it. Taxonomy filters only show categories that have items.
If something goes wrong
Turning the module off in Ranking Suite → Modules removes the types and fields from the site right away, without deleting anything you entered: turning it back on brings everything back.
